Catholic Prayers For Healing

Lord, you invite all those who are burdened to come to you. Let your healing hand heal me. Touch my soul with your compassion for others; Touch my heart with your courage and infinite love for all; Touch my heart with your wisdom, and may my mouth always declare your praise. Teach me to reach out to you in all my needs, and help me lead others to you by my example.

Dearest heart of Jesus, bring me health in body and soul that I may serve you with all my might. Gently touch this life that you have created now and forever.

This all-inclusive short prayer will serve anyone facing illness. It begins, “Almighty and merciful Father, by the power of your command, drive me away from all kinds of sickness and disease (CHP 2020)”

Lord Jesus Christ, Savior, and healer of our infirmity, who delivered Peter’s mother-in-law and ruler’s son from a high fever; He who strengthened the paralyzed, cleansed the lepers, healed the centurion’s servant; One who rescued a woman suffering from bleeding raised a man lying helpless on his thatch in the pond of Bethsaida, visited towns and villages to heal all kinds of ailments … May the sick be freed from their disease and of body and mind to be restored in, and may look aptly to praise your power until the end of their days; You who live and rule forever and ever. Amen.

Prayers for the sick have a general audience but can include any loved ones in your life. Whether they are suffering mentally or physically, you can request mercy from Jesus to end their pain and suffering through meditation and faith.

Sometimes the thing we need most in order to heal — or even to think about healing — is some good, restful sleep. This prayer asks Jesus to help you sleep, to free the demons from your thoughts, and to have angels over you while you sleep.

Thank you for being with me through all the ups and downs of my life and the blessings you have given me, for which I admire and thank you.

You know the disease I’ve been battling for a long time and there’s little that can be done by the medical profession – but believe me, I’m awesome and wonderfully made and you know every part of it is my body. You know exactly why I’ve been sick for so long. I come to you now asking that you will do complete recovery work on my body – whatever is causing this persistent problem. I pray that you, by your mercy, give me the health and strength that I need.

Lead me on the path you have planned for me.

This is a scientific prayer. It asks that God give you “every cell, electrical and chemical impulse, tissue, joint, ligament, organ, gland, muscle, bone, and every molecule in my body to come under full and perfect health, strength, alignment, balance, and harmony.”

Catholics believe that by repeating this prayer wholeheartedly and wholeheartedly, Jesus will heal them.

Oh my God, our friends who are sick, whom we now praise for your kindness.

Comfort him when he is sick, and ease his suffering. We beg for redemption and acknowledge that no healing is too hard if you desire it.

So we pray that you bless our friend with your loving care, renew his strength, and heal the illness he has in your loving name.

O Holy Spirit, please come like a dove

Living lord,

Your love has held me up and saved me from this pain. Now may your hope and healing take me to a place of restoration soon. O Lord, your healing oil flows from within me like a living stream. I choose to bathe in these clear waters every day.

I will keep my eyes on you, and trust in you that I will be completely fine. I give you all that I am and rest in your peace. I stand firm on your promises. They are like a spring filled with goodness.

Most Merciful Jesus, who is the consolation and salvation of all who trust in you, we humbly beg you, from your bitterest passion, your servant N.N. grant him the recovery of health, provided it is for the welfare of his soul, that he may with us glorify Thy holy name, and glorify it. Amen.

O great Saint Peregrine, you have been called “the Mighty,” “the Wonder-worker” because of the many miracles that you have received from God for those who have resorted to you. For so many years you have instilled in your body this cancerous disease that destroys the fiber of our existence, and which had resorted to the source of all grace when the power of man could no more. It was a grace to see Jesus coming down from the cross to heal your suffering. Ask God and our lady, the cure of the sick that we entrust to you.

I have come before you today who needs your healing hand. Everything is possible in you.

Hold my heart within you, and renew my mind, body, and spirit.

I am lost, but I come to you with grace.

You gave us life, and you also give us the gift of eternal bliss.

Give me the strength to move forward on the path you have made for me.

Guide me towards better health, and give me the wisdom to identify the people you have around me to help me get better.
